DWM Poetry Contest Winner & Entries

DWM employees participated in a poetry contest to celebrate April as National Poetry Month! Poetry is great way to foster connections and bring people together. We asked our employees to come up with DWM themed poems and vote for their favorites. Thank you to everyone who participated, and congrats to our winners!

1st Place:

There once was a man named Ryan
All over the states he'll be flyin.
A NASCLA he's got, and lazy he's NOT...
So we're looking for work, Virgin Islands!

- Kristen Berge

2nd Place:

The books whisper stories old and new
In Barnes and Noble, where dreams come true
Yet behind the scenes, there's work to do
Maintenance never stops, there's always a brew.

- Jake Terrell

3rd Place:

They click the calendar
Looking for the next challenger
Once it's a lock
It's time for flight dock
In the air
Life seems fair
But on the ground
It's round for round
Soon the job is done
The battle is won
It's back to their chair
To the smiles that care
Still the Internal burn
To click the calendar yearns
To see new places
And more strange faces
To the road
The dog returns

- Ralph DellaPorta

Honorable Mention:

Take the tough call without complaint

Endure vendor sourcing like a saint

Ask who needs help to find the best way

Make it your mission to do great today

- Heidi Neil
